C1.2: GENOMIC ADAPTATION IN PATHOGENIC OOMYCETES

Research Interests

Comparison of the relationship of neutral and functional diversity in pathosystems of the Hyaloperonospora arabidopsidis species cluster

Downy mildews are distributed worldwide and cause significant impacts on agriculture in terms of economic and environmental losses. The Hyaloperonospora arabidopsidis species complex contains about ten phylogenetically and physiologically distinct lineages of obligate biotrophic oomycetes. These include H. arabidopsidis and H. thlaspeos‐perfoliati the downy mildew pathogen of Microthlaspi perfoliatum. My research interest is to study the neutral diversity of the pathogens as functional diversity (effectors), and in particular to compare and study the patterns of both to investigate how they influencing each other.
